[This seminar will be done live as well as on the internet. It will be interactive with lots of audience participation. The cost will be $25 per couple.]

Have you found yourself saying the same thing over and over, or having your spouse repeat themselves again and again?  This happens when you or your spouse is not feeling heard.

During this short 90 minute class, couples will be introduced to a powerful healing tool called “hearing”.  Most of us are lucky if we can get our partner to even listen, but hearing is very different.  Listening can be demonstrated by having your partner paraphrase back what was said.  Hearing, however, requires a much deeper understanding of what was being expressed. Hearing is the ability to express back the other person’s pain or frustration more deeply than was initially communicated.  It is what therapists do to help heal their clients.  When someone shows such clear understanding, that the two of you can together find the deeper meaning behind an experience, then healing occurs.

Our wounds are formed because we feel a break in our relationship. Your partner did something, or did not do something, or said something or did not say something, and for that moment you felt disconnected.  If you did not feel disconnected you would not have been upset with what was done.

When that wound is shared and someone is connected to you while you’re sharing it, healing occurs.  It does not matter if it is the person who hurt you, or a friend, or even a stranger like a therapist.  When someone can join you in your pain or frustration, you will experience healing.

This will be “guy friendly”. Let me reassure the men being asked to participate: guys love this stuff.  Once they are here and learning what to do, it becomes simple.  Most men come reluctantly, if not down right resistant, but leave pleased with the results.  Its true guy don’t typically like dealing with feelings.  That’s because men don’t feel competent dealing with emotions.  However, once a man learns the easy 1-2-3 steps in this process, they are much better listeners and expresses then are the ladies.
